Program Description

The Master of Science in Hospitality Management Program will prepare students to advance their careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. Students will acquire knowledge and skills related to service quality management, marketing, revenue management, human resource management, events, and tourism development in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Students will be prepared to take on industry changes as they progress through their careers. Additionally, students will learn how to make evidence-based decisions and plans for improvement through courses in financial management, data analytics, and applied research methods specific to the hospitality and tourism industry. The program concludes with a capstone course where students directly apply the knowledge and skills they gained throughout the program to address an opportunity for innovation within a hospitality and tourism business or organizational unit.

Program Objective

Upon completion of the program with a Master of Science in Hospitality Management, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate, apply, and assess knowledge of theoretical constructs pertaining to the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrate the principles of critical thinking and decision-making when evaluating complex issues within the hospitality management arena.
• Identify technical aspects of the hospitality industry.
• Apply the processes involved in hospitality management research.
• Engage in decision-making ethically and compassionately in the hospitality field.
• Apply, synthesize, analyze, and integrate knowledge from revenue, technology, marketing, and other fields to develop innovative hospitality strategies and plans.
• Use information technologies and management techniques to evaluate growth competitive strategies.

Course Descriptions

All applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

1. Submit an official transcript or original foreign evaluation showing successful completion of a US equivalent bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 from an accredited college or university or equivalent recognition.

2. Any document not in English must be accompanied by a certified translated copy.

3. Submission of a valid government-issued photo identification.

Tuition cost of the Master of Science in Hospitality Management program is $9,360.00.
This amount does not include the cost of books, learning materials, or other applicable fees.
