Program Description

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed for careers such as accounts receivable coordinators, accounts payable coordinators, bookkeepers, credit and collections coordinators, payroll coordinators, and other accounting paraprofessionals in professional accounting occupations in the Business Management and Administration career cluster. This program provides technical skill proficiency and includes competency-based learning that contributes to academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, and knowledge of all aspects of the accounting field.

*PLEASE NOTE: This program is not intended to prepare students for the certified public accountant examination and will not lead or qualify students to licensure upon graduation. In addition, the transfer or acceptability of credits is at the discretion of the receiving institution.

Program Objective

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, students will be able to:

• Prepare and use financial information about business organizations to support decision-making.
• Manage business information using appropriate software.
• Demonstrate effective business communication skills.
• Evaluate business and financial information to support internal decision-making.
• Consider the implications of professional values, ethics, and attitudes in business and accounting.
• Prepare or develop strategic organizational skills.
• Prepare governmental tax forms, including income, payroll, and sales taxes.

All applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

1. Submit an official high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited, state-licensed, or government-recognized institution.

2. Submit an official, valid government-issued photo identification.

3. If applying with an associate degree, the applicant must submit official transcripts from an Accredited or Licensed institution. A certified translation of a foreign degree is required and must be equivalent to a U.S. Associate Degree.

4. Any document not in English must be accompanied by a certified translated copy.

• Technology Fee (one-time): $150
• Graduation Fee: $400
Tuition cost of the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting program is $23,040.00.
This amount does not include the cost of books, learning materials, or other applicable fees.
